Animal care is a diverse and expanding industry, worth £1 billion to the UK economy. With 46% of households owning a pet, and a rise in the number of people visiting zoos and wildlife parks, there are many job prospects for those with the right qualifications.
We offer specialist facilities for the study of animal care, including a collection of exotic and mammalian species.
Our Animal Care courses are delivered by experienced practitioners who have years of experience. Students benefit from work placements with local pet shops, animal sanctuaries and farms.
Jobs available within the sector include Animal Care Worker, Biologist, Countryside Ranger, Kennel Worker, Veterinary Nurse and Zoologist.

Every year the CIOB (The Chartered Institute of Building) helps colleges celebrate the achievements of their construction students, by recognising their efforts and successes.
I have learnt a lot about the animal care industry whilst studying and I have gained a lot of experience working with the animals in the animal care unit. As part of the course I spend one day a week at a work placement which I really enjoy.

Tree Planting at Slack Lane
Level 3 Animal Management students planting native species of trees (beech and hawthorn) with the the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. The trees will help to conserve the river back close to Newmillerdam.
