How to Apply

Full-time Course Applications

To apply to one of our full-time Honours Degrees, Foundation Degrees, or Higher National Certificate/Diploma courses, you can apply through UCAS from October 2023 for courses starting in Autumn 2024.

For more information about applying to UCAS, please visit: www.ucas.com/undergraduate/applying-to-university. When applying for a course via UCAS, you will need our institution code which is: W08. Details of our courses on UCAS can be found here: UCAS Heart of Yorkshire Education Group.

Apply direct to the University Centre

In some cases, you may need to apply direct to the University Centre. Here are some examples about applying directly and more information.

For most full-time undergraduate degrees, you should apply to UCAS. However, if you already know that you want to study with us at the University Centre at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group, and do not intend to apply to other institutions, then you should apply direct to us by completing our PDF application form. You can download the PDF application form here. You can download the PDF application form, complete the form either electronically and email it back to us at he@wakefield.ac.uk. Or, you can complete the form by hand and return to it to the HE Office, Room WU001, Seacole Building, Wakefield College, Margaret Street, Wakefield WF1 2DH.

Can I apply directly to university during Clearing?

Yes – the University Centre at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group is one of the Higher Education providers in the UK that accept direct applications. You can apply direct without UCAS and start your course in 2023/2024 if you know you want to apply only to us.

Part-time Course Applications

To apply for a part-time Higher Education course, you can apply directly to us at the University Centre at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group either via this website or by completing our PDF application form.

To apply via our website, navigate to the Higher Education course information leaflet you wish to apply for via our Higher Education course listings page, once you've found the Higher Education course you are interested in you click on the green ‘Apply’ button, then follow the online instructions to complete the application process.

You can also apply via our PDF application form, you can download the PDF application form. You then need to complete the form either electronically and email it back to us at he@wakefield.ac.uk

After you’ve applied

We’ll acknowledge receipt of your application which will then be assessed by our lecturers. Our aim is to check and hopefully confirm that the course is the right one for you and get back to you with our decision quickly.

Depending upon the course you have applied for, you may be invited along for an interview, to attend an audition or to showcase your portfolio.
