Summary

Wakefield College Principal Sam Wright welcomed local dignitaries to the College this week to mark the official opening of the former Registry of Deeds building. Named after the famous Wakefield born Suffragette leader, Florence Beaumont, the building on Newstead Road was officially opened by Robert Beaumont, the great-nephew of Florence Beaumont. Living descendants of Florence Beaumont were joined by senior College staff, Kevin Trickett, President of the Civic Society, the Mayor of Wakefield, Sarah Cobham from Dream Time Creative and others to mark the occasion.
