Wakefield College has signed up to a new accreditation scheme which will give the people of Wakefield access to a range of valuable IT industry-standard qualifications. The College has now become a recognised Certiport testing centre authorised to run a host of Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) courses. The MTA is Microsoft’s latest suite of technology certification exams which validate fundamental knowledge needed to begin building a career using Microsoft technologies.

Wakefield College IT Lecturer Dr Nigel Hindley said, “We are delighted to be able to offer these leading qualifications to students both as taught courses and for external candidates. The new courses provide an excellent entry point to a future career in the industry. Whether you are a member of the public wishing to drop in and take an exam as an external candidate or interested in a taught course, or a business interested in training opportunities, please contact the MTA team via email on MicrosoftMTA@Wakefield.ac.uk”.

The College will gradually roll out a programme of classes to support specific qualifications from the range starting with day and evening sessions supporting the Windows Operating System Fundamentals module in May 2013. See:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mta-certification.aspx for further details about the qualifications.
