Group boosts adults’ skills and job prospects with new courses

The Heart of Yorkshire Education Group is offering adults the opportunity to enhance their skills, retrain or move into employment with its latest range of adult courses. Offering over 170 different part-time and online programmes, adults can train in a range of areas including Automotive, Business, Childcare & Early Years, Construction, Dental, Engineering, Health & Social Care, Hospitality & Catering, Sport, Teacher Training and much more.

Group Celebrates Construction Students of the Year 2024

The achievements of Construction students from across the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group were acknowledged as part of its Construction Student of the Year Awards. Held at Castleford College on Wednesday 19th June 2024, students were joined by their parents, staff from the Construction Department and local employers as they collected their awards.

Group wins Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year Award

The Heart of Yorkshire Education Group was named as the Training Provider of the Year at the West Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards 2024, acknowledging its commitment to achieving excellence in Apprenticeships.

Held at Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford on Thursday 9th May, the Annual Awards celebrated apprentices, employers, colleges, trainers and supporters across 14 categories.

Students create sustainable fashion for Community Foundation Wakefield District

Level 3 Fashion Textiles students from Wakefield College have teamed up with Community Foundation Wakefield District to create and help promote sustainable fashion across the district. As part of this, the students have transformed clothes that have previously been donated to the charity’s shop or fabrics which would usually be sent to landfill to create new fashionable garments or accessories.

Students across the district get a taste of careers in Construction

Over 170 pupils from the Wakefield district took part in a wide range of hands-on construction activities as part of Give Construction a Try – giving them insight into the different career paths available within the sector. Give Construction a Try, which was held at Castleford College on Wednesday 13th March, saw pupils enjoy 115 interactive workshops across the day in bricklaying, building information modelling, carpentry & joinery, clay tiling, electrical, plumbing, roofing surveying and more.
