Horticulture students plant new bulbs at The Hepworth
On 22 October 2019, our Horticulture students were helping to plant some of the 9,000 bulbs at The Hepworth Wakefield's new garden.
Students worked to the designer's plans to lay out and plant daffodils and tulips for flowering next Spring. The planting was linked to Wakefield’s unique heritage of growing and showing old streaked varieties of tulips, and some of these varieties were planted in the garden by our students.
This was a real honour and a unique opportunity for our students to work on such a high profile public space - well done to all involved!
