Graduation Day

Saturday, 26 February, 2022

From 01:00pm to 02:00pm

Wakefield Cathedral

Congratulations on successfully completing your higher education qualification here at the University Centre at Wakefield College. The last 18 months have been difficult for everyone especially for you, our students, who have defied the odds and continued to excel in your academic achievements.

One of my personal highlights each year is the graduation ceremony that we hold in Wakefield Cathedral where we come together to celebrate your success. COVID-19 has caused disruption to everyone’s lives, and it has been impossible to hold large scale events.

Our Marketing Department has been working hard behind the scenes over the last few weeks to ensure we can offer our students and families the graduation experience you deserve.

The graduation ceremony is months in planning and involves several key partners working together including the venue, robing and photography company, caterers, The Highways Agency and others. Issues such as availability of venues, capacity restrictions, availability of robing services etc all determine when and how we can hold our graduation ceremony.

As restrictions end and venues start to fully open up, we are now seeing light at the end of the tunnel, and I’m delighted to announce we will be holding our ceremony on Saturday 26th February, 2022. Students who successfully completed their studies in 2020 and 2021 will be eligible to take part alongside their friends and families.

We apologise for the delays in releasing this information, however we wanted to ensure that we had specific details confirmed before we could let everyone know. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

We are really excited to welcome you back to UCW to celebrate your graduation early next year.
