What Mark had to say...
Mark completed a degree in Applied Performance Coaching with Wakefield College before taking up the role as Head of the College’s Rugby League Development Centre. In 2022, Mark was appointed as Head Coach for Wakefield Trinity, becoming the youngest manager in the Super League.
He has also taken the national step by being selected as a coach for the England Rugby League national talent pathway.
Applegarths job is to develop the elite players from the U16 age group and progress them with the aim of playing for the England Men’s Rugby League team. The role gives him hands on national team experience and a new elite skill set he can add to the already successful rugby set up here at Wakefield College.
